Neville cleared her opening height of 5' 3 1/4" before finishing with a third-place jump of 5' 5 1/4". The Wheaton women competed in three other events, including having junior Chizoba Ezeigwe (Brockton, MA/Thayer Academy) and sophomore Renee Thompson (Hartford, CT/Weaver) in the 400-meter dash. Ezeigwe advanced to Saturday's finals with a time of 57.49, which was good for second in her heat, while Thompson took fifth in the same heat at 58.95. Senior Megan Brousseau (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro), who is competing in her first track national championship meet, finished her heat fifth in the mile run at 5:07.42, which was just shy of allowing her to advance to tomorrow's finals. Brousseau also ran a leg on Wheaton's distance medley relay team, joining juniors Lily Calderwood (Harvard, MA/Bromfield School) and Natana Jules (Brooklyn, NY/Boys and Girls) and sophomore Kelly Libert (New Haven, CT/James Hillhouse). The foursome fell one placement short of an All-America performance, taking ninth in 12:27.44. On the men's side, sophomore Howard Powell (Brooklyn, NY/Boys and Girls) advanced to the finals of the 55-meter hurdles, as he placed third in his heat with a time of 7.64.
