Class Program Ideas

The following is a short list of possible class programs. A tentative weekend schedule of available time slots for class programs is provided here.

Please note that class programming is not mandatory; sometime it's fun to just be together!

Performance or Presentation

Enjoy the talents of classmates who are singers, authors, musicians, dancers, actors, artists, photographers, etc. Who in your class might be interested in presenting or showcasing a talent or significant experience? Be sure to contact and ask them early!

Games/Recreation

Games (volleyball, softball, basketball, tennis, etc.) can be open to all, but sponsored by a specific class, or several classes, with the assistance of the Office of Alumnae/i Relations & Annual Giving. For example, odds vs. evens class whiffleball in the Dimple.

Pick a Theme

Choose a theme for the weekend or for your cocktail party, and plan around it.

"Come as you were" Party

Collaborate with other classes for a "come as you were" or "fun in the sun" party, or a family swim or field day.

Traditional Step Sing

Encourage other classes to join you for a step sing on the library steps.

Historical Reflection

Choose Wheaton, America, or the world, or have a retrospective discussion on national or international events with alumnae/i, spouses/partners, faculty, staff.

Interesting Lives, Interesting Times

Call upon classmates to share reflections on their own lives. The issues are different for each class and/or decade:

  • balancing competing demands in their lives
  • sharing career experiences (service, environmental, performing or visual arts, athletics, etc.)
  • interesting hobbies (horticulture, art and architecture, antiques, crafts, community service, gardening, etc.)
  • facing life crises
  • starting your own business
  • financial planning, planning for retirement, etc.
