Battle of the Classes: Hunt for Lyon Pride

Juniors triumph in "Battle of the Classes"

The Class of 2007 trounced the competition in Wheaton's first annual "Battle of the Classes: The Hunt for Lyon Pride" last weekend with 17 combined points. Although other classes made strong showings in individual events, it was the juniors' participation in every event that propelled them to victory.

The Class of 2009 took second place with 12 points, followed by the sophomores with 11 points and the seniors with 5.

In individual events, the freshmen dominated the pie-eating contest, while sophomores scored big in the competition for trashy 80s costumes. College administrators and faculty who were high school and college students in the 1980s declined to comment on the accuracy of the winning costumes.

Juniors won outright in two of the other contests--two-hand touch football and the tug-o-war--and tied for first with the Class of 2008 in the canned food drive.

Thanks go out to everyone who organized and participated in this year's "battle," and good luck to the junior class as they try to hold on to their crown next year!
