Meal Plan

The College provides a single priced meal plan for all students called "Carte Blanche". This program offers flexibility, convenience, and continuous dining and extensive menu alternatives. There is at least one dining hall open from 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. The dining program was designed to accommodate the varied schedules of Wheaton students. Without a limit on meals and offering full service dining all day, students can develop their own custom meal plan program, based on their individual eating habits, schedules and preferences. "PS Dollars" provides students with extra buying power that can be used at all Dining Locations.

Technology Fee

The College provides wireless and wired internet access and telephone service with unlimited local and 800 number calling to every student from their rooms and at many other locations around campus. In addition, each student has a personal voice mailbox for messages. While the College does subsidize these services, there is a $60.00 charge per semester.

Tuition Management Systems Budget Payment Plan Enrollment Fee

The TMS Budget Payment Plan charges an enrollment fee of $65.00 to be paid to Tuition Management Systems, Inc. to take part in the Interest Free Monthly Payment Plan.

Health Insurance Requirements and Waiver/Enrollment Process

According to state law, all students must be covered by a health insurance plan with comparable coverage as a Mass Qualifying Student Health Insurance Plan (QSHIP). To ensure that all students have the required health insurance coverage, students are charged for the Wheaton College Student Health Plan ($1,100.00 for 2009-2010). In order to waive enrollment in the Student Health Plan, a completed Student Health Plan Waiver Form verifying enrollment in a comparable health plan by a U.S. health provider must be received by the College no later than the first week of September for Fall Semester coverage and the last week of January for Spring Semester coverage. Any student with health insurance provided outside of the United States will be required to enroll in the Student Health Plan. The purpose of this policy is to ensure timely and quality health care while attending Wheaton College. Students who do not submit the Medical Insurance Waiver will be assessed the full year premium. In July, you may access the Health Insurance Waiver online.

Optional Accident Insurance Plan

Wheaton College offers an OPTIONAL Accident Insurance for any student who waives the Primary Wheaton Health Plan. The purpose of the Optional Plan is to provide low cost secondary insurance coverage, particularly for varsity athletes (under the accident sections of both policies, varsity athletes are covered 100%, subject to the policy limitations).

Tuition Refund Insurance

Since the Wheaton refund policy provides only limited refunds for tuition, board and fees (and only for withdrawal for non-academic and non-disciplinary reasons), it is strongly recommended that consideration be given to purchasing Tuition Refund Insurance to minimize any financial loss. The Tuition Refund Plan is an important program that will provide you with insurance protection covering both prepaid and unpaid tuition, room and board charges. Benefits are payable throughout the academic year. Payments under this Plan are coordinated and reduced by any tuition adjustment made by the College for withdrawals. All students are charged for the Tuition Refund Insurance Plan. The estimated 2009-2010 cost for this plan is $200.00 for the full year, or $100.00 for students enrolled in the spring term only. Enrollment waivers may be submitted before the first day of classes if you do not wish to participate in this insurance plan.
