Development Associate for Gift Planning

Term: Full-time, 12 months

Reports to: Director of Majors Gift and Gift Planning

Description: The Development Associate in Gift Planning will participate in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gift planning prospects, donors and volunteers including managing a prospect load, coordinating communication materials, and performing direct solicitations. In addition, he/she will implement the marketing program for gift planning that will educate and inform constituents about planned gifts and assist donors in the transfer of assets to the college. The Development Associate will also serve as the liaison to the college's planned gift administration vendor, provide calculations on gift values and manage and support gift planning volunteers. Some travel required.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree and minimum of two years of experience in development or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Previous experience in higher education, legal or financial field strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills including knowledge of Windows and Excel necessary. Must be flexible and willing to travel and work some evenings and weekends. The ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion is essential. Must be flexible and willing to work some evenings as weekends.

Salary: Administrative/Professional Grade 2
