IACUC
The use of vertebrate animals in teaching and research here at Wheaton is reviewed by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. The IACUC meets twice annually to review and approve protocols, and to inspect the facilities. Use the link at right "Research With Animals at Wheaton" to learn more about the criteria considered when protocols are reviewed.
Faculty or students wishing to use vertebrate species must submit an Animal Use Protocol to the IACUC for approval prior to beginning any project. Click on the link at right to download a protocol submission form. Approved protocols are valid for three years but are reviewed annually. Modifications must be submitted to the IACUC for approval during that time. After three years a new protocol must be submitted for ongoing projects.
