Field Courses
Tropical Field Biology (Bio318) - An exploration of the biology of tropical rain forests and coral reefs. Course will be taught during January 2007 in Costa Rica and Belize. Previous 200-level courses in biology and permission of the instructors (Shumway & McCafferty) required.
Wheaton Affiliated Programs
Maritime Studies Program of Williams College and Mystic Seaport - Students learn about the sea by taking courses in Marine Ecology or Oceanography, Maritime History, Literature of the Sea, and Maritime Policy. Classroom lectures in Mystic, CT are supplemented by field studies on the coast of California and Oregon, and while sailing at sea for two weeks. All credits transfer to Wheaton and financial aid is available through Wheaton. Semester long program. One or two Wheaton students usually enroll each semester.
Semester in Environmental Science at the Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole - Students study terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems ecology and microbial ecology with scientists from the MBL's world renowned Ecosystems Center. Students receive Wheaton college credit and financial aid is available through Wheaton. Semester long program.
