Slide Library/Visual Resources Center
The Slide Library is the repository for the collection of teaching images used primarily by the Department of Art and Art History. It is run by one full time Visual Resources Curator, one part-time Assistant Visual Resources Curator and 10 work study students.
Our slide collection consists of approximately 75,000 35mm slides, and 25,000 lantern slides. Additionally, the slide library maintains a rapidly growing collection of digital images available to the Wheaton community via MDID (Madison Digital Image Database) http://mdid.wheatonma.edu/
Though primary focus and scope of the image collection is to provide teaching images for the Art and Art History Department. The Slide Library will create digital images upon request for all members of the Wheaton College community. Requests for images should be made in person at the Slide Library, please allow 10 days for processing.
